BRAC Minutes - November 17, 2005

Club President Dr. Leslie Layne opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. with approximately thirty-three members and visitors in attendance.
Dr. Neal Sumerlin of Lynchburg College spoke of a planned observatory site, Claytor Nature Reserve. While this site would be primarily used for LC students, it may also be possible for BRAC star parties to be held there. More details will follow in the upcoming weeks.
Club member Brian Munson gave a fascinating presentation on Web Cam digital imaging. He also shared some incredible planetary images he has produced with his own equipment.
Upcoming Club Events and Notes:
1. Star party Nov. 26, 2005 / Secondary night Dec. 3, 2005
2. Library presentation at Moneta branch of the Bedford County Library will be Dec. 1, 2005. If you wish to help with the presentation, or bring a telescope, contact John Aadland at jdalu75@aol.com.
3. Some folks have not paid their club dues for the current year. These need to be taken care of as soon as possible.

4. Next BRAC meeting at the forest Public Library will be: Thursday. Dec. 15, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and everyone is invited.
